About Bezalel Art

Lorraine Rich founded “Bezalel Art” in 1982 to restore the Visual Arts to their proper place beside Music, Writing and Dance in worshipping the Lord. She bases her Ministry on Exodus 31: 1 – 11 where Bezalel and the other Artists are given their gift by God through the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) for the purpose of creating designs for the Tabernacle.

Homeless Artists and refugee children alike have been encouraged by being provided with sketch books, canvas, paint, wood and carving tools. She believes Art is a source for healing, hope and joy and seeks to provide the public with the opportunity to purchase or commission high quality, faith based Art. Lorraine has gathered together a group of Artists who acknowledge God as the source of their creativity and who seek to bring Him praise. They are International – from Israel, Colombia, Canada and Eastern Ukraine.

Lorraine has lifted her Banners at the East Gate of Jerusalem, the Lobby of the Toronto Dominion Centre, the St Lawrence Centre, the former O’Keefe Centre in Toronto and the Ottawa Conference Centre. She was a craftsperson in Residence at Art Park, New York. Copies of the Israel Banner featured hang in Daystar Studios in Texas, and the Village of Hope in Zimbabwe Africa. She has provided her children’s banner materials to outreaches in Haiti (see video), Sri Lanka, Mexico, Israel, and the Dominican Republic. Her banners serve as the Altarpiece at the Scott Mission, Toronto.

As Benjamin, our Israeli artist declared, “We are Bezalel Warriors”. We do battle using painting and drawing and colour as our spiritual weapons proclaiming the wondrous glory of our God.

Let all artists proclaim together “Baruch haba B’Shem Adonai” (Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord) to prepare the nations for His return.
